The Best Workout Ever

Question. Should you or should you not work out when you are pissed off??

I usually allow my tempers too cool off after a while. But today was different, I won’t explain, but it was different. My first thought was do your 30-40 minutes of cardio and pump some weights and call it a day. And that’s what I did, went home, geared up immediately and went straight to the bike. It helped, that I had blasted on some of my workout tunes that just fueled me even more to sweat all that annoyance out. So I warmed up and then sprinted for a good 25 minutes, off and on. I was in my own world, not caring a lick about who was watching.

I went to the second level and started my weighted dips, superset with curls. Tricep pushdown, superset preacher and did straight bar curls with tricep kickbacks. By this time, I was pretty beat and sweating like a dog. Less then a minute break between sets pacing around like a beast. Since I was in such a rush, I didn’t pack my protein shake so I wasted $5.28 on a large powerbuilder shake. Whatever

I did it all in ~50 minutes during rush hour in my gym this is between 5-8pm (one day its a zoo… the other a disco club). Today the gym was mine, I was rude and didn’t care. BANG! BANG! BANG! I was done!

Conclusion: Workout cause it’ll take your mind off things. I still kept pushing even though my body was tired. I think that was on pure adrenaline there. (plus some NOXplode). Now I’m tired as hell, but I felt like posting this on the blog. However do a reality check, don’t hurt yourself, it will put you back 2 months. This was either a great idea or a dumb one …I guess I won’t find out till tomorrow, when my body screams HELP!!!!!

We’ve all heard about the economic crunch. We’ve all felt it in some fashion this year. Earlier in the year it was gas prices, now there are a number of things from budget cuts to unemployment. Do these tough times mean people will scale back how much they eat? Doubtful. Most will turn to comfort foods and usually in excess. Stick to your GUNS!

Only have a few bucks? Many people think they’ll get more bang for their buck hitting the nearest all-you-can-eat buffet or dollar menu than visiting the local health food store. Sure this may not apply to many of you reading this as you are health conscious, however you most likely have friends, family, co-workers or clients who fall into this trap. Encourage them to be smarter in 2009 about their health and fitness.

CASE STUDY

Breakfast:

  • Dozen eggs =    $1.50
  • Oatmeal =         $2.50
  • Yogurt =           $0.30-$1.89  (READ THE LABELS)
  • Fruit =               $0.20-$4.00 (Depends on season)

Okay, now take a trip to McDonalds or BK and you’ll be spend $2.00-$5.00 on the body that you don’t want. When I’m running late, it is real easy for me to run into the grocery store and get a piece of fruit and 2 boiled eggs. Why? Have you seen the wait in line for that egg Mcmuffin & coffee lately?

Let us get a couple of things clear:

  1. Your not a college student anymore, get up plan your meals and your day…TRUST ME NO ONE IS THAT BUSY.
  2. Enjoy the pleasures of cooking at home with the family and enjoy the savings. That way you can at least know what your eating!
  3. The amount of perservatives, sodium, fat and additives in fast food is driving you crazy and you don’t even know it!
  4. Did you not watch the movie SUPERSIZE ME! Look in the mirror, be real with yourself. Your not that bad compared to who?
  5. You’ll will not be suing any fast food company for any of your mistakes i.e. too much food, trans fat or spilling hot coffee.

Many of us made some type of resolution to get back into shape, be a better person or eat healthier. If you’re one of the resolutioners or know someone who is, check out the New Year’s Guide by Bodybuilding.com. It has a great list of helpful tips.

Don’t use the tough economy as excuse to cancel your gym membership or resort to cheap comfort food. Take the time to invest in yourself and you could find a leaner body in these lean economic times.
