Damn! I wish I could put Cheese on this...

I know…not the most appetizing meal on the planet…but it works! I’ve been eating well and working out…great!

But here the bad…my late night snacking is sabotaging everything. My post dinner meals are all over the place. I don’t hit the sack till midnight, so between 6pm-12am it’s a free for all. I’ve also noticed around 3 am or so I’m sneaking into the kitchen eating something….SABATOGE. All the hard work is going down the drain. All the meal prep in the world cant help this. NOTE TO SELF: GO TO BED EARLY AND STOP USING SLEEP WALKING AS AN EXCUSE.

Remember, there are no shortcuts! I can’t eat clean all day, then reward myself at 3 am. I noticed a significant loss in weight when I had guest over the weekend.

Stay with it, be consistent, be dedicated. Good things come to those who work hard. If you need any personal advice feel free to email me. I will do my best to reply.

How bad do YOU want it?

A lot of people I know that are on strict diets or just starting a new one have this problem. It's so common to want to crash at 3 or 4 in the morning, and it is so hard to control what your body wants. Self control and having a strong mind are key when fighting off those late night cravings, because you have to think about "Do I want to lose weight or do I want to pack on an extra couple pounds if I eat that Twinkie?" It's so hard to bypass the deliciousness of a hostess snack :P

The major difference I've made to my diet is by one eating enough (healthy balance of nutrients-carbs, protein and fats) and two by making my meals much more exciting than they've been in the past. The result, my cravings have literally disappeared and I feel much more satisfied with my meal intake during the day.

In everything we do, we must focus on our aim. "Stay with it, be consistent, be dedicated." Yes, this is indeed true. It is just a matter of self discipline. We have our own choices, so be it!

I see eating at night time as the 'devil's apple.' If you do have it tastes ludicrously good but there are severe consequences (fat put on) and if you choose not to take it, you feel much better the next morning and in addition you stay in your sub conscience's good books.

Hi, is it true that if you eat anything during the night, it will automatically store as carbohydrates and thus as fat in the morning? My friend ate some bread at 2am and then complained about putting weight on the next morning..? Your thoughts?

That weight was probably water weight. You'd have to eat a lot of bread to notice any fat gain in one night. Over time, yes, it can lead to fat gain.

Our nutritionist suggested having a snack in the evening. I grab one about 8 pm. Make it protein, as it will be an energy source throughout the night. I understand your frustration though, because I have late night snacking issues too. Going to bed earlier definitely helps.
