Nike’s New Fuel Band Is Here And I Want One

Maybe it’s because I’m a geek for gadgets that make running more fun and engaging, or maybe it’s because Nike‘s marketers are wicked smart, but today when the fitness giant announced their new Fuel Band, I had the same reaction as just about every other health writer, amateur runner, athlete, and trainer: I want one. Joseph William "Joe" Frazier

Joseph William “Joe” Frazier (January 12, 1944 – November 7, 2011), also known as Smokin’ Joe, was a former Olympic and Undisputed World Heavyweight boxing champion, whose professional career lasted from 1965 to 1976, with a brief comeback in 1981.

Frazier emerged as the top contender in the late 1960s, defeating the likes of Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, Buster Mathis, Eddie Machen, Doug Jones, George Chuvalo and Jimmy Ellis en route to becoming undisputed heavyweight champion in 1970, and followed up by defeating Muhammad Ali on points in the highly-anticipated “Fight of the Century” in 1971. Barry Sanders

Barry David Sanders (born July 16, 1968) is a former American football running back who spent all of his professional career with the Detroit Lions in the NFL. Sanders is best known for being one of the most prolific and elusive running backs of all time, and left the game just short of the all-time rushing record. Sanders is a member of the college and professional football halls of fame; in 2010, the NFL Network series The Top 100: NFL’s Greatest Players named him in the top 20 players of all time (and the associated fan poll ranked him fourth best of all time).

Do Something Different!!!

I’ve been doing an afternoon run 3 times a week ~1.5m through a trail for about 2 months. Dont ask my why or how, but after running in the 95C sun…nothing else weems to matter.

Even tough I havent mastered it, I started to do sprints 8x50yds post run. Talk about sweat!

Mondays Can be a Pain in the Chest

You know what I hate about mondays? Yes it’s another manic Monday. Its not the fact I’m going back to work, the weekend is over, or that I have to deal with traffic.

It’s the fact that Monday is “National Bench Press Day”. Everyone and their moms all over the US, descend upon gyms across the nation to do the one exercise that is a small test of upper body strength. The damned flat bench press. Why I don't Drink Milk: Cause a Billion is Not Enough!

Two years ago I watched this movie called Food INC. I walked away thinking we have no chance. Corporations have billions and are armed (I say say armed cause this is a battle) with doctors, lawyer, marketeers, psychologist and a team, vying for that dollar in your pocket. The film had a segment on animal abuse, care and husbandry in the cattle industry…dear I say, oh my and why I don’t drink milk.  I have also been weaning myself off the byproducts such as cottage cheese, yogurt (sad times for me) etc.

American Idol alumni Mandisa was the ninth-place finalist in its fifth season (2006).  After her stint on the reality singing competition, Mandisa has made efforts toward living a healthier lifestyle and to lose weight. And she has succeeded. Mandisa has lost a whopping 106 pounds! I know many people are wondering how she lost all that excess weight. So, how did she do it?
