I’ve been obviously MIA…playing around and learning. I have a lot of things going on and can’t wait to share….
There will be changes to the site but I figure let me get back to the basics instead of being fancy smancy…and no I wasn’t inspired by facebook changes. I still have some updating to do and add some amazing stories people have been emailing me. Either way be on the look out….it’s good to be back.

FREE: Van’s Natural Lite Waffles GIVEAWAY
As a blogger, I get freebies, many which are single items. In this case I have 5 coupons for a FREE box of waffles.
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LEAVE A COMMENT.
Van’s Natural Lite waffles are a tasty breakfast option that can help you eat reasonably without sacrificing on taste. With just 70 calories per waffle, 6 grams of fiber per serving and honey-sweetened taste, they make for a delicious and healthy start to any day! Before I agreed to this, I had to take a look at the ingredients….not bad. Drizzle some honey and fruit and I would give this a solid “B+” The only reason it doesn’t get an A, is cause I am recently promoting home cooking above all.

These waffles are free of high-fructose corn syrup and sweetened with honey and pure cane sugar. When compared to the typical frozen waffles we’ve all grown accustomed to, this blend of traditional ingredients along with the exotic – like quinoa, amaranth and millet flours – really makes for a unique texture and brings a much more “grown-up” taste to the table.
Van’s is widely available at grocery stores nationwide. Visit http://www.vansfoods.com/Store_Locator to find Van’s products in a grocery store near you.

Kelly Rowland’s Weight Loss of 10 Pounds by Cutting Out Sugar
R&B singer and former Destiny’s Child member, Kelly Rowland, was spotted on the beach (see photo above) over Memorial Day weekend. Her swimsuit highlighted her waist and hips and her body is testimony to a good workout regimen. Over the past couple of months she has lost 10 pounds by cutting sugar out of her diet. She said,
“I’m telling you, I’m not eating sugar. I didn’t even try to lose weight.”
Kelly read the book, You Are What You Eat: The Plan That Will Change Your Life by Gillian McKeith, where she learned to cut out things like sugar, meat and cheese to be healthy and strong. She goes on to mention,
“I did some of the those things [from the book] for a month, but for the most part, it is just sugar that is gone from my diet.”
Kelly is currently working on a third solo album and preparing for the release of her single that will be sure to be a hit, Shake Them Haters Off.
The Poor Misunderstood Egg

The Poor Misunderstood Egg
Let me be perfectly clear: Eggs are one of the most perfect foods on the planet. I eat a lot of eggs and my cholesterol is way low…even a little too low, but that’s another story. I’m a big egg white fan but should I omit the yolk?
Yup, the yolk — that poor, misunderstood, but essential component of the egg that too often gets thrown out in a misguided attempt to avoid cholesterol and fat. So let’s clear a few things up about eggs, cholesterol, fat and health.
Number One: The cholesterol in eggs has virtually no effect on the cholesterol in your blood.
Number Two: The fat in the egg yolk is mostly monounsaturated fat, the same kind found in olive oil. Yes, you heard that right. Of the 5.3 grams of total fat in one large egg, only 1.6 grams are saturated.
Number Three: Many of the nutrients that make eggs so incredibly healthy are found in the yolk. Examples: Lutein and zeaxanthin, two members of the carotenoid family that are beneficial for eye health. The yolk also contains choline, which is important for brain health — and vitamin D.
The idea that eating eggs is bad for your heart is a myth. No study has linked egg eating to greater risk of heart disease. In fact, quite the opposite. According to an article from Harvard Health (a publication of Harvard Medical School), “The only large study to look at the impact of egg consumption on heart disease … found no connection between the two.”
Research has also shown that eggs eaten at the start of the day can reduce your daily calorie intake, prevent snacking between meals and keep you satisfied.
However, not all eggs are created equal. Stay away from scrambled eggs at open buffets. While the cholesterol in eggs poses no real harm to you, when that cholesterol is “scrambled” and then exposed to air and oxygen for a long time (like on an open buffet), it becomes damaged. That’s not something you really want in your body. Better to poach, soft or hard boil. If you do scramble eggs, eat them quickly and don’t let them sit around all day long.

“Today is a gift, that is why it is called the present” waking up up is hard: it’s cold, baby wakes up 2-3 times a night and my bed fells so good.
Why did I wake up 530am?
Body is soft
Waist line is getting big
Nephew beat me in a game of basketball (this will not happen again)
Life is too short to worry about the past and the future, because what will happen is you will not be in the present. The present is where those little wonderful moments happen, that can give you peace. Those moments give you a purpose, one that you could not have even imagined, and if you were too busy worrying, it would float right by you. Living is taking it one day at a time, finding courage, accepting hardships as pathways to peace, and smiling when you can through the joy of others. But you cannot accomplish any of this until you get honest with yourself…. and begin living!!! Become the person you ought to be!
Diet Sunglasses?!
The Diet industry is a multi-Billion dollar industry, so does this surprise you?
Got the dieting blues?
You’ve all heard that joke about a chubby guy or gal being on a “see food” diet. Well, a Japanese company named Yumetai seems to have given some serious thought to the matter, creating dieter’s sunglasses with deep blue lenses that make the food you’re eating look, well, disgusting.
Now you know why food isn’t blue
There’s more to it than that – according to Yumetai, there’s a scientific explanation behind these sunglasses and the lenses are blue for a very good reason: the color blue acts to calm the brain’s appetite center.
At the same time, the lenses block rays of red light which tend to stimulate the appetite. Make sense? Hey, if you’re a desperate dieter you’ll believe just about anything but if you think about it, there aren’t many obese Japanese walking around outside the sumo dojo.
This colorful 3D graph adds cred to Yumetai’s site
If you want to put the diet sunglasses to the test, you can order them online from the Yumetai website for just 1,890 yen (about $19) plus shipping. The aviator-style sunglasses weigh just 25 grams (about an ounce) and are made in Japan.
Considering the many millions of dollars Americans lay out on diet remedies every year, it may be time for a new approach. Plus, the fact that many fattening food already look disgusting doesn’t seem to stop those intent on pigging out in style. What have you got to lose? Well just maybe, your appetite!
