Fitness to Do list


Implement the following suggestions immediately for better muscle gains and better long-term health.

1. Drink a gallon of water throughout the day.
2. Increase fiber consumption.
3. Increase vegetable and fruit consumption to eight or more servings daily.
4. Make a doctor’s appointment for a full physical with blood work.
5. Supplement’s for recovery. (See “Supplement Regimen” below for specific guidelines.)
6. Plan workout and recovery strategies.
7. Get a good night’s sleep (at least eight hours).

The Law of Compensation & Tough Love


After an incredible week of working out and eating clean, the compliments begin to pour in. What do I do? Eat enough bread and pasta to feed an army….sad I know. I felt as if I deserved it. My waist is creeping towards 32 and my BF is 17%. I lost sight of my real goals (30″ and 10%) and misapplied the law of compensation.

The Law of Compensation asserts that we will only receive what is rightfully ours. But if we have worked hard yet we have not been rewarded, it means that we did not apply the Law properly. The Universal Laws work similarly with math and science. They always have accurate results. The possibility and supply remain constant at all times.

And it is our responsibility to appropriately make use of the Law of Compensation to improve our lives. This is because our present condition relies on the way we apply it. If we fail to realize this, it is us who will suffer the consequences. And we must know that it is through our thoughts that we are able to apply the Universal Laws.

It is so much mind over body. Can I call myself a man without self discipline?

I run into so many people with so much potential physically, but mentally have fallen into the hole of disbelief. I know cause I’ve done it…worst yet with better knowledge than most. I have understood now more than ever, anything I had before was purely luck. Now I’m putting in work! There are a lot of good looking people and these people need very little work and wont do it. Why? People are not willing to exercise a little more and eat a little less or drink a little less alcohol to be fit. I fell off big time and now my body is beginning to reflect my mind power. I am beginning to be in complete control of my body. I’m not in a “F off” zone yet but I’m getting there.

Anyone who is overweight with a strong mind will eventually gain control of their body. If they are fit and weak minded there body will eventually reflect who they are. Your body will eventually reflect who you are mentally. It is easy to be fat that’s why over 80% of the US is obese and all the tough minded people are ripped, now are you tough?

People also claim they dont have time, but trust me if you want it that bad enough you will make time. I’m not here to judge…just to give you some tough love.

McDonald’s Happy Meal lives forever!!!

Interesting article….There are places in the US called deadzones. These are areas where grocery stores don’t exist for miles, but guess what?! A McDonald’s is never too far…

Vladimir Lenin, King Tut and the McDonald’s Happy meal What do they all have in common? A shocking resistance to Mother Nature’s cycle of decomposition and biodegradability, apparently.

That’s the disturbing point brought home by the latest project of New York City-based artist and photographer Sally Davies, who bought a McDonald’s Happy Meal back in April and left it out in her kitchen to see how well it would hold up over time.

The results? “The only change that I can see is that it has become hard as a rock,” Davies told the U.K. Daily Mail.

She proceeded to photograph the Happy Meal each week and posted the pictures to Flickr to record the results of her experiment. Now, just over six months later, the Happy Meal has yet to even grow mold. She told the Daily Mail that “the food is plastic to the touch and has an acrylic sheen to it.” NASTY

Black Athletes, White Trophies/Lovers...Why?

I was going to write and give you guys a progress report, but I stumbled upon this well written article I just had to share from the writers of www.urbansportstalk.wordpress.com.

Do I care?….kind of, there are so many good women and men out there. I do think you should marry at your level but you don’t have to go out of your race to do it. It’s not so much a white thing …it’s more like they’re just too lazy to find the right one. But I do seem to look at these guys differently…like a Forty Million Dollar Slave.

On November 4, 2008, America elected a Black Man as the President-Elect of the United States of America. This historic event has caused many Americans (especially w/in the Black Community) to examine many issues surrounding “race” that have been either taboo or only talked about honestly when one is in the midst of their own ethnic group. We felt that we should be no different at Urban Sports Talk & Entertainment… so we are asking you to give your thoughts about “race” as it relates to Black Athletes involved in interracial relationships.

I decided to pen this post mainly because of a conversation I had with my cousin recently. Given my background as a former football player, he wanted my perspective on Black (Male) Athletes dating White Women. He just cannot understand how these athletes are raised in Black neighborhoods, attend Black (k – 12) Schools, worship in Black Churches then go off and leave Black Women behind. His challenge to me was to defend that reality for those athletes.

I didn’t care to provide an excuse because I don’t believe a person’s decision to date someone of another ethnicity is shameful. What I did talk about is how a Black Athlete’s circumstances can lead him (them) to make certain choices. Many of which were never available prior to him/her being highlighted for athletic prowess.

For instance, the vast majority of Black Athletes are removed from Black areas when they are given scholarships to attend White Colleges. This is the initial step towards assimilating into the Majority Society. For many Black Athletes, this will be their first time attending a class as the minority student. He/she will be living around tens of thousands of non-Blacks for the coming years as they are being trained to play sports at a high level. His/her world view is being shaped during this time as he/she is experiencing independence from parents, family and their community. It is during this time when they are frequently socializing with many diverse groups of people which they will ultimately be influenced by for the years to come.

My cousin wasn’t impressed and didn’t want to hear that lame excuse as he called it. What are your thoughts? Are we passed this issue or should Black Athletes be challenged for their decisions to date outside of their race?
